Before the whirling is over, the raft and all 12 of its occupants-have been soaked with water by Bluto, a giant 18-foot tall Octopus and even fellow guests.POPEYE'S BOAT- "THE OLIVE"Set in Popeye's three-story boat, this family-friendly interactive playland features dozens of participatory activities for kids too small to ride the rafts. Discovery environments range from Swee'Pea's playpen for infants and toddlers, to exploration tunnels in the Cargo Climb for pre-schoolers, to role-playing and firing water powered Whatsanozzles for older kids.RESPONSIBILITIES include supervising a creative staff of designers, writers and other creative artists in developing attractions from concept to park opening. Experiences include rides, play environments to lives shows. Duties entail establishing conceptual story lines and collaborating with contractors, architects, engineers performance artists in building an immersive themed environment which include animatronics, special effects, show action equipment, show sets, props, audio and lighting.

Production DesignerUNIVERSAL STUDIOS FLORIDA, Orlando, FloridaThe design and creation of seven attractions, including Alfred Hitchcock, the Art of Making Movies; Murder She Wrote, Post Production Pavilion; Animal Actors' Performance Stage; Beetlejuice Graveyard Revue; The Rocky and Bullwinkle Show; Fievel Goes West Show; Nickelodeon Tours.RESPONSIBILITIES included interpreting on-screen cinema events and translating them into state-of-the-art, high-capacity entertainment experiences for guests. The position included the supervision of the design process from concept to opening, leading a creative staff made up of art directors, graphic designers, storyboard artists, model makers and illustrators. Duties also included integrating the work of writers, architects, general contractors, engineers, scenic fabricators and special effects vendors. The priority was to retain artistic integrity of the original concepts through the constraints of budgets and schedules. Projects included live shows, multi-media presentations, exhibits, retail stores and merchandising.
Concept DesignerWALT DISNEY WORLD, Orlando, FloridaDeveloping future attraction concepts for the Magic Kingdom. Translating popular animation features into live performance shows. Projects included The Lion King, Mickey's Birthday Celebration, The Jungle Book Story.

Clients included Texas Instruments, 3M, Subaru, American Express, Royal Dalton.RESPONSIBILITIES included the visualization of concepts and the development of design documents that present the viability of the concepts.

Projects included developing full-body, immersive and interactive VR games and interfaces for Computer Aided Design applications in association with Autodesk.RESPONSIBILITIES included writing research proposals, soliciting research partners, structuring research initiatives, building the awareness of research projects with industry leaders, and advise on industry needs and trends.

ProducerTHE EDGE, Orlando, FloridaAn International exhibition on emerging technology premiering at the 1995 ACM/SIGGRAPH conference of computer graphics and interactive techniques. The exhibit emphasized the importance of the human spirit in creating our technological future. The event was presented to 26,000 visitors and covered 30,000 square feet containing over 60 exhibits on art, science, education and entertainment. It included virtual reality, telepresence, telecommunications and unique computer/ human interface technology.RESPONSIBILITIES included the integration of over 60 teams of leading artists, scientists and educators from around the world; the creation of the concept and mission of the exhibit; the presentation of highly complex technical achievements to a general international audience; the development of the marketing strategy and liaison to the public relations and communication and graphics vendors; the coordination of the exhibit and audio-visual contractors; the inspiration and leadership of over 100 volunteers world-wide.
Outreach/sigKIDS Co-chairACM/SIGGRAPH 98 CONFERENCEIn charge of defining and mounting the International sigKIDS exhibition and creating year-round outreach initiatives in preparation of the 1998 SIGGRAPH Conference. Organized a team of international and community leaders to advance the art and science of computer graphics and interactive techniques through education. Also acted as liaison to industrial, educational and municipal institutions in advancing community programs that spread the spirit of SIGGRAPH.
Founding ChairORLANDO ACM/SIGGRAPH CHAPTERA chapter of the largest professional computer graphics society. Within its first year of existence, it became one of the largest and fastest growing SIGGRAPH chapters in the world. This lead to the honor of being selected to help head The Edge exhibition at the 1994 International Conference.RESPONSIBILITIES included mobilization and supervision of volunteer committees to produce workshops for adults and school age kids; and printed communications, including brochures, press releases and newsletters.
